STUDENT CONTEST RULES

Contest opens at 8 a.m.
Monday, March 20

Win up to two front-row tickets to see Bill Nye, a mechanical engineer known as the Science Guy, in honor of the Jonsson School’s 30th anniversary.

Starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 20, a link to questions about the Jonsson School: our history, students, faculty, facilities – and a couple of related puzzles – will be posted on Jonsson School Facebook and Instagram accounts for three days. For each question, the first correct answer we receive is worth four (4) points, second is worth two (2) points and third gets one (1) point. These point values will be doubled for select questions as indicated when they are posted on social media. Whoever earns the most points over the three-day period will win up to two tickets to see Bill Nye on Friday, March 24.

Not familiar with Jonsson School history? Well now is the time to learn. Most of the answers are available on Jonsson School, UT Dallas or Google webpages, so enterprising students can review or bookmark informative pages in advance.

There will be a total of 30 questions, so 30 separate opportunities to earn points! Questions, or a puzzle, will be posted at the top of each hour from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, March 20 – Wednesday, March 22. On Facebook, there will be separate posts with a link for each question. On Instagram, there will be one contest image posted per day, with links to the question posted in the comments section every hour.

In order to win, you must be a verifiable student enrolled in an engineering or computer science major or graduate degree program. The last question will post at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 22. No points will be awarded to any submission received after 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22.

Student winners will be notified on the morning of Thursday, March 23.
