Professional Digital Badges
The Jonsson School Career Services & Professional Development is now offering two professional digital badges that you can add to your LinkedIn profile. After completion of one these badges, students will be able to receive an Express Lane Pass for the Jonsson School Career Fair in Spring of 2026 and a cord at graduation.

Professional Skills Badge
The Professional Skills Badge is designed to increase awareness and ability to effectively use professional skills in the workplace such as communication, teamwork and leadership, critical thinking, and problem solving. These skills are highly valued by employers and can help promote success throughout a student’s career. This badge combines instruction as well as opportunities to practice these skills and receive constructive feedback.
- Communication Training & Workshop (1.5 Hour Workshop)
- Teamwork & Leadership Training & Workshop (1.5 Hour Workshop)
- Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving Training & Workshop (1.5 Hour Workshop)
- Individual feedback appointment with a Jonsson School Career Coach (1 Hour Appointment)

Professional Branding Badge
The Professional Branding Digital Badge offers the opportunity to strengthen students’ resume and cover letter, networking skills, and interviewing skills. Enhancing one’s professional brand increases the chance of employability. The purpose of this badge is for one to thrive in the job search process. After completing this badge, one will establish a professional presence online and in person that will help land their future job.
- The Blueprint to a Successful Resume (1 Hour Workshop)
- Branding Yourself: Best Practices (1 Hour Workshop)
- Interview Etiquette (1 Hour Workshop)
- Resume Review Day (0.5 Hour Event)

Jonsson Leader Badge
The LEAD Badge is for all the Jonsson School students either undergraduate or graduate and will capture attainment in activities outside of degree plan received here at UTD. LEAD captures efforts in Leadership and Communication, Exploration and Entrepreneurship, Advocacy and Volunteerism, and Design and Deployment. There are four sequential levels available: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. With each level corresponding to increasing ownership and independence of effort with student organizations and clubs, workshops in UTDesign, and more. Student enrollment will begin at the Bronze level, which will include:
- Leadership and Communication: Complete a CliftonStrengths Workshop (2 Hour Workshop)
- Exploration and Entrepreneurship: Complete 4 meetings hosted by an ECS student organization or UTDesign
- Advocacy and Volunteerism: (Complete 25 hours of volunteer activity with the Jonsson Outreach Program)
- Design: Complete 3 of 5 UTDesign Makerspace skills – (soldering, test and measurement, 3D Printing, Laser Cutter, Craft Room) – 2 hours per skill. This will be a total of 6 hours of training. Plus you will need to complete a safety training workshop prior to the trainings.

Professional Attire Resources
Temoc’s Closet provides UT Dallas students with free clothing, shoes, accessories, hygiene products, and more. The goal is to assist in easing the financial burden of college as well supporting students’ career readiness. Students may use this resource to prepare for career related opportunities, recover from the loss of clothing due to extreme events, adapt to changes brought about by pregnancy and birth, and more. Temoc’s Closet is generously supported by donations from members of the Comet community (students, staff, faculty, and alumni) as well community members and local businesses.
The Basic Needs Resource Center (BNRC) strives to offer a wide range of sizes and styles of clothing in a judgement-free environment. The BNRC is committed to ensuring students have access to free attire and hygiene products, so they are successful during their time at UT Dallas and beyond.
Temoc’s Closet is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The closet is located inside of the Basic Needs Resource Center, SSB 4.300. No appointment needed!
