Professional Development
Professional Development
The purpose of ECS³ Program (Excellence in Career Success) is to support all Jonsson School students with their Career & Professional Development. The focus is on educating and preparing students to gain the skills necessary for career success.
The program will include a yearly professional development plan of action with clear steps that students will complete and master alongside their academic programs. The program will serve both the undergraduate students and the graduate students.
The ECS³ Etiquette Dinner will be hosted in December annually, and will recognize students that have successfully completed the requirements for the program with either a Novice, Intermediate, or Advance level of Distinction in Professional Development. We will also recognize the ECS faculty members, advisors, staff, employers, and council members that have been an integral part of the student’s career journey (nominated and voted on by students).
Professional Attire Resources
Temoc’s Closet provides UT Dallas students with free clothing, shoes, accessories, hygiene products, and more. The goal is to assist in easing the financial burden of college as well supporting students’ career readiness. Students may use this resource to prepare for career related opportunities, recover from the loss of clothing due to extreme events, adapt to changes brought about by pregnancy and birth, and more. Temoc’s Closet is generously supported by donations from members of the Comet community (students, staff, faculty, and alumni) as well community members and local businesses.
The Basic Needs Resource Center (BNRC) strives to offer a wide range of sizes and styles of clothing in a judgement-free environment. The BNRC is committed to ensuring students have access to free attire and hygiene products, so they are successful during their time at UT Dallas and beyond.
Temoc’s Closet is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The closet is located inside of the Basic Needs Resource Center, SSB 4.300. No appointment needed!
