In a short time, the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science has exploded from a visionary idea to a school on the leading edge of discovery.
Since our founding in 1986, technology has made exponential advances — and so have we. The Jonsson School has helped fuel a staggering new world of technology that even our visionary founders could scarcely have imagined. Carbon nanotubes, micro-electro-mechanical systems, wireless networking, cybersecurity, organic electronics, advanced robotics, artificial intelligence — these are just a small sample of the technologies our brilliant faculty and students are advancing through their research.
Now, as part of a growing Tier One institution, we need endowed chairs and professorships to draw the best and brightest faculty. We need graduate fellowships and undergraduate scholarships to attract the most promising students and ensure all students have the necessary support to reach their potential. We need to invest in creating a welcoming, supportive environment to prepare our students to become engineers and computer scientists who design for all people. We need world-class facilities and equipment, so our dedicated faculty and students have the tools to engineer their careers. With your support, we can continue to drive the future of innovation.
Fearless 2020 marked the Jonsson School’s inaugural fundraising initiative that continues with an ambitious University-wide campaign. Read on to learn about the impact of these generous gifts and our vision for the future as the University continues with New Dimensions: the Campaign for UT Dallas.
