Students
UT Dallas students have a number of ways to engage with each other, industry professionals and the community.
Internships and Career Services
Jonsson Career Services enable undergraduate and graduate students to participate in cooperative education, internships, and curricular practical training. The JCS staff can help you with everything from developing your resume to contacting potential employers and launching your career. Students interested in pursuing continued educational opportunities can get helpful tools to navigate the search and application process for graduate programs.
Hands-On Experience
UTDesign is a program that provides senior engineering and computer science students with a meaningful experience on capstone projects by partnering with industry to bring solutions to real engineering problems. Students not only work on a real company project, but also learn about the corporate environment.
The UTDesign EPICS program is a service learning design program where undergraduate students work on multidisciplinary teams to solve real engineering problems while leaving a lasting impact on the community.
Students can also participate in make-a-thon events to create prototypes that tackle real-world problems in a collaborative, team-based setting. Through the Comets Create program, Jonsson School students compete in 26 hour challenges to design and build prototypes along a given theme. These multidisciplinary teams are helped by faculty and corporate mentors. For information about Comets Create, contact to UTDesign program.
